Emily + Nour’s Summer Wedding at Fishermen’s Inn in Elburn, Illinois

Belly dancers at night, and a beautiful outdoor Ceremony by day….today we are taking a look at Emily and Nour’s Summer wedding! Mixed in with our chat with Emily and Nour are some photos that display what they mention, and some of the rest of my favorite photos are further down below.

Q+A with Emily and Nour:

1) Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Emily: The first look was very special and I am glad we decided to do it after much back and forth!  Also, the time I spent with my Mom in the dining area window before the first look. And of course the belly dancers performance and Nour’s COMPLETE improvisation of the wooden stick dance!!
Nour: The speeches were my favorite.

2) What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Nour: My cufflinks. Emily got them for me and they were stamped leather with our initials.
Emily: My Grandma’s hat pins in my bouquet with birch bark from my Dad’s house.

3) What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
Emily: Nour is very contemporary, clean lines type and I’m more rustic/industrial rustic/boho. I thought it was going to be more difficult to decide on something but Fishermen’s Inn wowed us from the first visit. From there we choose our colors of merlot, blue and blush w/gold.  I really wanted something centered around wild flowers, nature, moss, etc.  We were able to combine that with some vintage and gold and make it elegant.
Nour:  I knew I wanted a royal blue suit and we also built around that.

4) Mention a funny moment here:
The belly dancer blowing smoke in my dad’s face…lol (Emily)!
When we made Nour’s Dad pull everything out of his bulging suit jacket pockets and it was jammed with packs of cigarettes, his charger, phone, wallet… it just kept coming.

5) Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
It is very true that the big day goes by so fast and then everyone is going home!  Try to be really present in the moment as much as possible.

6) Tell us about the honeymoon plans!
We went to Secrets CapCana in Dominican Republic for 10 days (and lived to tell) and it was pure paradise!  Every minute was amazing and we really tried to be present and soak it all up.  We indulged in all of the things, did excursions and had beach days. We certainly spent the first couple days reveling over our wedding and how beautiful every thing was, matching up stories of what happened throughout the night and talking about how it did go by so fast.

7) What was it like working with Sprung Photo?
Victoria and her crew were great (Tom and Chris). They were getting shots that we did not even realize that were even doing!  We would look through our photos and be like “I didn’t even see anyone up there???!”  They really do an amazing job of just blending in and getting authentic moments that aren’t staged. Victoria did a peek a boo photo of my Dad through my bridesmaids and I love it!!
