Megan + Clayton’s Vegan Wedding at Ashley Farm in Yorkville, Illinois

Sudden summer storms, a gorgeous rural farm, and two people head over heels in love. What could be better? Oh yeah, DONUTS. Vegan donuts! 😉 All kidding aside, Megan and Clayton are two of the best people you’ll ever meet, and their wedding was filled with all the good kinds of drama. Read and view on for some highlights!

Q+A with Megan and Clayton:

1) Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Our private vow reading and first look was our favorite memory from the wedding!

2) What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
My favorite accessory was my piece of linen with my Grandma’s handwriting that said, “I love you up to the sky and back again.”. She always said that to me growing up and it meant a lot to have that at the wedding when she couldn’t be there.

3) What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
We love hiking and being outdoors. We loved the venue for their evergreen trees and outdoor space! We chose decor from natural elements such as fresh and dried flowers and slabs of wood.

4) You had a vegan wedding! Can you tell us more about that?
We were excited to have an all vegan wedding and share our cruelty free lifestyle with our guests! It was fun to create the menu with our venue and show them how they could incorporate more plant based menu options. We also loved taste testing all the vegan cakes and donuts!

5) Mention a funny moment here:
Funniest moment of the evening was one of our bridesmaids wearing 2 left foot shoes (by accident)! She realized she brought two left feet shoes when she was putting them on to walk down the aisle! She trooped through it though!

6) Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Our best advice would be to take several pauses throughout your wedding day to stop, take a mental picture, and take it all in! It truly does go by so fast. Try to find some time during the day for just the two of you to be alone together and cherish your day!

7) Tell us about the honeymoon plans!
We went to Washington state for our honeymoon. We loved hiking the national parks and checking out their vegan food spots. The landscape on the West Coast was absolutely incredible.

8) What was it like working with Sprung Photo?
We completely enjoyed our experience working with Victoria and her team. They were incredibly helpful during the planning process and helped us come up with a timeline for our day. The team communicated promptly throughout the planning process, even with all the stress of COVID. The day of the wedding, her team went above and beyond to get creative shots of us and our families and they were able to add in some last minute photos of members we didn’t initially have on our list for the day. They did a great job of getting so many candid shots and captured so many beautiful moments- we didn’t even know they were there for many of the shots we got! We would absolutely recommend Victoria and her team for your special day and we would hire her again for any special moments in our future!
